How to Use This Course

This course teaches the mechanism behind how selective, holistic university admissions actually work — extracted from primary-source research into real admissions processes, a real lawsuit that forced a top-tier university to disclose its internal scoring rubric, how financial aid actually gets decided, how strong applicants build a legible "spike," how the best independent essay coaches actually structure a personal statement, how to build and run an application tracker across a dozen-plus schools at once, and — because a growing share of applicants now arrive with something already built (a small business, a research project, a following) — how the founder-specific questions (visas, deferral, whether to skip college entirely) actually shake out against real evidence rather than internet folklore.

What it is not:

• Not a chances calculator. Nobody — not this course, not a consultant charging a premium hourly rate — can tell you your odds at a specific school without reading your actual file. Anyone who implies otherwise is selling certainty they don't have.
• Not an essay-writing service. The essay module teaches structure and craft, not a fill-in-the-blank template. A trained reader can tell a templated essay from a real one every time; the whole point of the structures taught here is to help you write your material better, not to hand you someone else's.
• Not a guarantee, and not personalized advice. There is no formula that produces admission to a specific school. Treat any resource that implies otherwise — in this space or the adjacent world of accelerators and fellowships — with real skepticism. Module 8 gives you a concrete framework for spotting exactly that kind of oversold certainty.

#How to use it

Read the eight modules in order once — each one assumes the mechanism taught in the ones before it. Then module 7 (the tracker) is the one you actually keep open: it's the working document you return to every week from the day you start your list until decisions land.

#A standing note on "verify everything"

Admissions rules, deadlines, and aid policies change every cycle, and every specific number or policy cited anywhere in this course was true at some point in time — not necessarily the point in time you're reading it. The lesson in every module is the mechanism: why Early Decision changes your odds, why "need-blind" and "need-aware" are different promises, why a rating scale that isn't an average behaves differently from one that is.
