Templates & Follow-Up Cadence

The voicemail, the emails, the texts, and the schedule that ties them together — print this one

4 min read

Every field in brackets is a placeholder: swap [BUSINESS], [NICHE], [YOUR NAME], [AGENCY], [CITY] for the real values before you send anything. The email templates keep their CAN-SPAM footer intact deliberately — see Module 2's compliance lesson for why it isn't optional.

Pre-call checklist (30 seconds per lead)

  • Google the business — confirm no real website shows on their Google listing (the verification check from Module 2).
  • Note one specific detail: years in business, neighborhood, a standout review, their specialty.
  • If you built a demo, have the live preview link open before you dial.
  • Call 8am–9pm local, business hours preferred. One person, manual dial — see the compliance lesson.

Voicemail (under 20 seconds — leave it, then immediately follow up in writing)

"Hey [OWNER], it's [YOUR NAME], local here in [CITY]. Quick one — I actually built a sample website for [BUSINESS] and wanted to show it to you, no charge to look. I'll text you the link. Call or text me back at [NUMBER] — thanks!"

Send Email #1 or SMS #1 the moment you hang up, not later that day.

Send from your agency domain, never a free consumer address. Personalize the first line every time.

Email #1 — with a built demo (highest-converting version)

Subject: built [BUSINESS] a website — quick look?

Hi [OWNER], I'm [YOUR NAME], local here in [CITY]. I noticed [BUSINESS]
doesn't have a real website yet, so I built you a quick preview:

▶ [PREVIEW LINK]

It's mobile, linked to your Google, with click-to-call and your [services/menu].
Nothing to buy to look — if you like it I can have it live this week
($997 one-time + $97/mo, or $0 down at $199/mo, everything handled).

Want me to make it real?

Email #2 — no demo built yet (offer to build one)

Subject: quick website question for [BUSINESS]

Hi [OWNER], [YOUR NAME] here, local in [CITY]. When people Google
"[NICHE] near me," [BUSINESS] doesn't come up with a website —
just [Facebook / a directory page].

I build clean, mobile sites for local [NICHE] shops and I'd like to
build you a free preview so you can see it — no obligation.
Worth a look when it's ready?

Email #3 — follow-up, Day 3, if no reply

Subject: re: [BUSINESS] website preview

Hi [OWNER], bumping this up in case it got buried — here's the
preview I built for [BUSINESS]: [PREVIEW LINK]

Happy to tweak anything or answer questions. If it's not for you,
just say the word and I won't follow up again.

SMS #1 — send the demo link right after the call or voicemail:

Hi [OWNER], it's [YOUR NAME] ([AGENCY]) in [CITY] — here's the website
preview I built for [BUSINESS]: [LINK]. Take a look & tell me what you
think! Reply STOP to opt out.

SMS #2 — warm follow-up, Day 2:

Hey [OWNER], did you get a chance to peek at the site? Happy to change
anything. Can have you live this week if you like it. — [YOUR NAME]. STOP to opt out.

The follow-up cadence

Most deals close on touch 2–4, never the first call — which makes this table, not the opener, the part of the system most people skip and shouldn't.

WhenTouch
Hour 0Call → no answer → voicemail + Email #1/SMS #1 with the preview link
Day 1SMS #2 (warm), or a quick second call
Day 3Email #3 (re: preview)
Day 5Call again — "just making sure you saw it"
Day 7Last touch, a takeaway close: "closing the file on this — want me to publish it or shelve it?"

Stop immediately on any opt-out and log it. If there's still no interest after Day 7, move on — the same lead is worth recycling in about 60 days, not calling again next week.

Live walkthrough close (once they're actually looking at the demo)

"Okay, you're looking at it — that's [BUSINESS], on the web, on a phone. See the click-to-call button? That rings this phone. See how your [services/menu] is right there? … The only difference between this preview and it being live for your customers is you saying go. Want me to make it real?"

Send the deposit link the moment they say yes, confirm they received it, and set the go-live expectation before you hang up.
